Have you ever been to a point where you think the battle is not just going to an end? Problem after problem, difficulty after difficulty, and crisis after crisis. It was just like an endless chasing with life. Have you been waiting for a change of circumstance that is not yet happening?
Let me introduce you to that character that exactly relates to your story. It is found in Mark 5:21-34. She is a woman who has been looked down on because of what is going on with her life. People look at her as she deserved to be looked at—unclean and hopeless. He has stayed at rock bottom for already a quite long time. It is already 12 years since she felt the last feeling of life. It is already 12 years since she felt accepted and heard. Now because of her situation, she is just simply among the dirtiest persons in society who should not be around people. The bleeding just never stops. She has visited all doctors; she seeks help and healing but it is just draining her finances. She is not just getting better.
When she hears about Jesus. She has determined to touch Jesus. She believes that by touching, even a part of His cloak, she would be healed. So, she positioned herself at the back of Jesus to touch, not his body but just his cloak. Then what do you think happened? In a split of a second, she feels the healing and the freedom from her suffering!
Wow!!! What an amazing relief that woman must have felt? I am getting emotional thinking about what she felt that finally, after 12 years she is healed. Finally, she is well again.
Many people draw lines of realization from the point of the woman. Her acts of faith, that her touch gave way for her healing. How about a little twist of perspective? What if, it is not about the woman’s touch and faith? What if, it is about Jesus putting Himself in a very position that the woman could reach His cloak? What if, Jesus intended to pass by that way for the very woman, who has been longing for Jesus, to heal her? What if, it wasn’t the woman who positioned herself at the back of Jesus but it was about Jesus intentionally making Himself available for her to touch Him?
Yes, it was not about her faith, but Jesus, because what if, faith is not about healing or no healing, in this story? What if, physical healing is not the measure of faith? What if, it is not about our faith but the intentions of God in our lives? What if, the measure is the intentions of God? What if, it is about an encounter and a spiritual touch of Christ in our hearts? What if, the intentions of God may not be a physical healing or a physical deliverance? What if, the intentions of God may be more than making your situations well or convenient again, maybe it is to build inside you the Kingdom of God—love, grace, kindness, perseverance, and on?
The things we see, and the things we feel many times are not the shreds of evidence of God’s intentions. God will never ever fail to put Himself in a strategic position to work something inside you. It is what happens inside you that really matters to God. He is the God who is able to identify with you and is already working something out of your faith inside you. Yes, inside you, that is the most beautiful touch of God in your life.
